We are alive!

Sorry for the non update!

We are all moved into our new apartment and LOVE it! Hopefully I will get some pictures up soon. Its been a great move for us and we absolutely love it  here! Anyone that wants to come visit we have plenty of room for you now! Just let us know!

One funny story before I need to go!

Last Saturday Deric and I were out looking for dressers at goodwill and walked by the shoe area. Deric goes over and starts looking at the shoes and then realized that half of the shoes on the shelf are his. 1 pair that he wanted to give to goodwill and 2 others that he thought he kept. We got to thinking that neither of us had seen any of his shoes since we moved in. So we decided to go home and see if we could find any of his shoes. Well long story short Deric gave all of his shoes that he wanted to keep to goodwill. So he only has 3 pairs of flip flops and a pair of slippers. Good thing we figured out before Sunday that he didn't have any church shoes or running shoes for work. So now Deric owns a new pair of really cheap payless church shoes and super cheap payless running shoes for work! Oh and it gets better!!! When we got home from looking at dressers and laughing about the shoes Deric decided to go look in the garage to see if maybe we had forgotten a bag in his car or on the shelves. (side not our garage door opener is very temperamental, it only works when it feels like it!) So as he was getting down from looking on the shelves
(garage door opener was in his pocket) the garage door closed. He pushed the bottom to get it to open again but NO he was stuck. Luckily he had his phone on him but we have horrible service! He tried to call me but the service kept dropping. and honestly i had NO clue he was outside in the garage I thought he was inside in the bathroom or something. I was wondering why he was calling me from the bathroom to tell me a funny story. I was yelling at him to come out of the bathroom to tell me the funny story. Well after about 5 minutes of trying to get connected through the phone he finally just text messaged me and told me that he was stuck in the garage!!! We had a super good laugh with that one! Now we both know to always bring our cell phones with us into the garage!!!

My dad is in town this weekend and we are heading down to San Diego to visit my brother and his family and then tomorrow we are heading up towards L.A. to visit my Grandpa's grave site. My dad hasn't been there in over 30 years! I am excited for him to go!!!

He’s HOME!!!

Sunday night was a great night!!!!! Deric got off the buses around 11 pm Sunday night. I didn’t CRY! I did really good!!! They didn’t let the guys run to see us right away which pretty much annoyed me! They got off the buses and had to stand around right in front of us before they could come hug us! It was miserable! When the higher ups finally let them go Deric snuck around everyone so I couldn’t see him and came up behind me. It scared me but it was soooo nice to have him right with me!

Well this is what we have been up too! We went to Disneyland and California Adventure Monday and Tuesday. enjoy the pictures!

We are moving on Tuesday to our new apartment! We are very excited to move into a bigger place.

August 23rd 2009

I never thought this day would come. Of course it has already started with some set backs but my husband is coming home tonight, well tomorrow morning.

I am a HUGE ball of emotions today. I think I have almost felt every emotion possible. I have been VERY angry,sad, happy, excited, EXTATIC, nervous and full of love and joy! I didn’t get much sleep last night. I think I woke up about every day hours after I got to sleep. Which probably wasn’t the best since I will be up till for a LONG time tonight waiting for my husband to get to base.

Its funny to think that I am nervous to see Deric again. Its been SO long since I have seen him in person. I know NOTHING will have changed between us but for some reason I am very nervous. I keep playing in my mind what I think will happen when I see him. I am SURE that I will start crying because I will be so excited and since I haven’t really cried at all this entire deployment, I think it will all just come out tonight.

I am headed off to hang out with Mason and Makena the kids I nanny to help pass my time today. I also cut my bangs because I was super bored! That's what happens when my entire house is spotless, laundry down, dishes done and nothing on TV.

It has been a while since I have had choppy bangs

and now I remember why I love them so much!! 

Disneyland

My friend Sara and I went to Disneyland on Tuesday night to use up the tickets that I bought for Deric and I. I had to use them once before the 23rd and since that is the day Deric is getting home it would be a little hard to use them before! We had tons of fun! We went after work and stayed till about 12:30! and I went on the Tea Cups for the 1st time ever! How sad is that!!!! But they were fun! Indiana Jones is one of my VERY favorite rides!!! This is one of the ladies from the ride!

I can not even try to explain how happy I am! 51 hours and counting!!!

Wishin’

I have not had a good nights sleep in a week! This darn Fasciitis is KILLING me.

I gave in today and bought this for tonight.

I really am wishing and hoping that it works.

(I have been following everyone's suggestions very thoroughly! I do not wear flip flops, which by the way SUCKS in California. I don’t go bare foot and I have been doing my stretches as instructed by my AMAZING doctor brother!!!!!! love ya Jon)

72 hours…

I was in charge of Enrichment this month. So I decided that we would get prepared and make 72 hour kits!

After 2 months of preparing and stressing and buying LOADS of food I finally pulled it off on Tuesday. It went wonderful and I got lots of complements on how I ran it!! It was wonderful and it feels good to be sort of prepared! Well as much as I can right now. Here are some pictures from the night!

See if you can answer these questions! Post your answers and the 1st person to get them right gets something from me to put in your emergency kit! I don’t know what it will be yet but it will be something good!!!!

1. How much water should you have per person, per day. Not including cooking water.

2. How often should you change/rotate your 72 hour kit?

3. How many times a year should practice your emergency plan with your family?

4. Why do we have 72 hour kits? Specific answer here. (Why are they called 72 hour kits?)

5. What should person documents like birth certificates, marriage license, SS cards and scriptures be stored in?

Oh and I finally went to the DOCTOR  on Tuesday for foot pain that I started having on Monday. I have Plantar Fasciitis. Its not fun and its super painful. and the thing that sucks the most is that pain medicine doesn’t work on me for some reason. So I am hoping with my stretching and my scheduled use of  Tylenol for inflammation (not pain because it doesn’t work) that it will soon be gone!!!

The Waiting Game.

I am so sick of this waiting game. The time can’t seem to pass fast enough. I believe this is how pregnant women feel when they have 2 weeks left. You never know when your baby is going to come and you keep hoping that it will be sooner rather than later. You can’t sleep at night because your so anxious for your baby to come (husband to come home) well for pregnant women I believe the not sleeping is not so much being anxious but being super uncomfortable. I am not uncomfortable just really anxious!

We haven’t heard a confirmed date yet. Honestly I wish we had a date so that I can really start getting ready. I have everything super cleaned but soon the packing begins so I am “trying” to get things organized and purge most everything we don’t need anymore. I am very excited to get into our new apartment and have more space.

Not a lot has gone on in the my life the past couple of weeks. Sorry for the non updates. Life is the same. I go to work, play with the kids, come home and clean and run some errands. I am in a rut. But that rut is soon to end! Because when Deric gets home life is going to go by fast. Deric comes home, we go to Disneyland, Move into our new apartment, go on our 1 year honeymoon cruise (since we didn’t get a honeymoon. I don’t count driving to Southern California in a U-Haul a honeymoon) and by then it will be October! WHERE HAS 2009 GONE!!!!!
