My little garden is growing! I am so excited to use my herbs soon!
Its getting so nice and big! The Basil smells amazing. The chives are starting to get thicker and the cilantro, oh I can’t wait to use the cilantro!
This past week I finally bought a new duvet cover after 4 years of having the same one! I LOVE it!!! It finally matched the letters on my wall!
Oh and the reason for the title! Not that I am counting or anything but its about 79 days give or a take a few!!!!!
A week late. Sorry.
I have a lot of men in my life and family that I am extremely thankful to for serving our country! At our wedding reception I set up a table to honor the men in our family who had given up their lives and time to serve our amazing country. I am very thankful to them for their time and sacrifice for our freedoms in this country!
First of all I am EXTREMLY thankful and proud of my husband for his service. He really is the biggest example to me of sacrifice and true patriotism for our wonderful country! and he looks amazing in his uniform!!!
Deric and I both come from families with a lot of military background. Both of our grandpa’s served, our uncles, and great uncles, my brother and cousins. I am not going to name names just for safety reasons since my blog is not private! But I just want all of the amazing men in both of our families to know that we are extremely thankful for your amazing service to our great country and for your wonderful examples to both of us. Your service will NEVER be forgotten!
I feel like I have not written in MONTHS. Sorry to the people who look at my blog! I get frustrated when people don’t update and here I am being just like that!
May has been an insanely crazy month for me! I feel as if I haven’t been at my house all month!
I was able to go home to Spokane to surprise my dad for his 62nd birthday on May 16th. That was so much fun! I pretty much surprised my entire family by coming home!!!! It was so nice not to worry about anything! I didn’t have to lock up the house and make sure everything was put away. I didn’t have to eat dinner by my self and I always had something to do. The weekend FLEW by way to fast. But lucky for me I will be back in June. Another reason for coming up that weekend was to see Taft Julian get baptized! Taft is one of the boys I used to nanny in Spokane! He was 5 1/2 when I started working for them! I can’t believe he is8 years old and going into 3rd grade already! The baptism was amazing and seeing him all in white and super happy made me cry!!! I am so glad that I didn’t miss out on seeing him baptized and so happy!
I have actually been in Palm Springs for a little over a week working. I can’t really call it working, but I do get paid to be out here playing with the kids. It is SUPER hot out here. We spend most of the day either in the sprinklers, pool or inside the nice air conditioned house. The desert is starting to grow on me! I am finding it more beautiful every time I come out here. Of course its a different kind of beautiful. The Mountains around here are amazing. They are HUGE! The sky at night is the most beautiful thing I have seen in a very long time! I can see so many stars and the nice thing about it is that its still about 80 degrees out side at midnight. No blankets needed to look at the stars!

Oh and MAJOR congrats to the cutest new family Alden and Emily! They just had their 1st baby!!!! Camille! She is so cute! I got to hold her on Tuesday! So dang cute! I love that family! They are an amazing couple and are going to be the best parents! Camille is so lucky to have them as her mommy and daddy!!! CONGRATS guys!
I feel bad for baking so much, but I have gotten the baking bug! Which is weird since its like 80 outside and now I am heating my house even more! But it sure has been fun to learn how to make things from scratch!

After Sunday's relief society lesson I decided that I need to be better about my homemaking skills. They aren’t to dull, but they aren’t too sharp either!
Today I decided to bake banana bread and also to do a very small 1 person slow cooker meal.
Cooking for one person is hard! It really has been a struggle for me to actually cook and not just succumb to eating Lean Cuisine frozen dinners.
I wish we had smellopictures! Because my house smells amazing after making banana bread and a pot roast!!!
I think its time to go shopping!!!! There isn’t a lot left in my fridge after cooking dinner tonight and baking banana bread from scratch!
We had an amazing Relief Society today. Our teacher Brother Wilbert gave an amazing quote about Mothers. Sorry I am going to butcher it, I knew I should have written it down. It was something along these lines,
Heavenly Father knew he couldn’t be here on earth with us, so he gave us Mothers.
It was said so much better than that! But you get the point and it shows us how important our mothers are!
Another Brother in the ward spoke from the talk Given by Sister Beck titled Mothers Who Know.
There are so many good points in this talk but some that stuck with me where that Latter Day Saint women should be the best homemaking women in the world. (I am trying my hardest) Mother who know are leaders. We have a lot of little people looking at our every moves. Mothers who know are teachers. Something that he said in his talk REALLY stuck out to me. He said that him and his wife are striving to teach their children everything that they can about the Gospel and they hope that their children don’t learn anything from church that they haven’t already learned at home. I thought that was a very good point. We as mothers (or future mothers like me) should really strive to teach our children all that we can about the Gospel and not leave it to their primary,Young Men or Young Woman Leaders.
Mother hood is the most amazing calling on earth!
If you put an add into the paper to hire a mother it would have to read something like this!
WANTED: A women willing to give up her free time and work 24/7 365, to be a , chef, short order cook, chauffer, referee, cheerleader, therapist, doctor, lawyer, Judge, maid, laundress, fashion stylist, hair stylist, dentist, baker, friend, policewoman, coach. Also needs to be willing to be barfed on, spat on, peed or pooped on, and be willing to do all of these things at the drop of a hat!
That doesn’t even sum it up! My mom had done so many more things for me! including all of those listed above. Being a mother has to be the hardest more rewarding job on earth. I can’t wait to be a mother someday (Hopefully in the near future). What great examples I have had in my life. My mother being the supreme example to me of how to be an amazing Mother. She still does an amazing job and I am 100% sure that she will do an amazing job for the rest of Eternity.
Thank you mom for being an amazing example of what a mother should be! I love you very much.
A little girl in the neighborhood had her 6th birthday at Irvine Regional Park. This park has to be one of the coolest places I have seen so far in Irvine. There are trains rides, paddle boat rentals, pony rides, a zoo, horse back rentals, and the park is gorgeous! Set back up in the hills behind our apartment and LOADS of trees. It was so fun to hang out with the kids and see them having so much fun! and the best part was they slept so well after a fun filled Hello Kitty Birthday party!
So the Prophet told us to try and grow our own food. Its a little hard in a small apartment but I am trying my best. I bought some herbs a little while ago in my attempt to follow the Prophet. Starting small.
Soon I would LOVE to have an orange tree and Lemon tree! They smell amazing and grow wonderfully down here in Southern California!
