4th of July...sorry long post!

I am totally slacking on this blog thing! So sorry to people who want updates. I am trying to do my best! so here is our weekly update.

Deric is actually in the field this whole week. Which means, no talking till Friday. But he is coming home the 4Th of July weekend, which is going to be a pretty crazy weekend for the both of us! First thing when Deric gets here, we are gonna go take our engagement pictures in Coeur D'Alene Idaho. One of the ladies from my church is hopefully going to do them for us! Then we are off the Moses Lake for Deric's dads wedding! I am pretty excited and super nervous to go over there. I get to meet the rest of Deric's family. It is going to be fun! Eric and Rachel are getting married on the 4Th of July at Deric's grandma's house on the lake!

I am excited to get to meet everyone.

Then after the wedding we are headed to SEATTLE!!! I love going to visit my sister! Speaking of my sister, they just got some WAY cute family pictures done! Katie (my sister) Just had a baby on June 4Th! He is the cutest little thing! His name is Carter Roy Sullivan. What an adorable little man! They have been staying with us for almost two weeks now. Its been a lot of fun to have a new born baby around. I forget how small they are! His big sister Breanna is such a

helper! She loves to give him kisses, and find his Bink when he is crying. It's so cute to see her with him!

Katie has been a big help to me trying to get things going on the wedding planning! We have gotten a lot figured out for our reception. It's nice to have her here!

Oh... so the reason we are going to Seattle is because of my awesome Brother-In-Law Chris Sullivan got box tickets to a Mariner's game on July 5Th! The Mariners just happen to be Deric's FAVORITE baseball team! So we are headed over there to go see the Mariners hopefully beat the Detroit Tigers. It should be a fun game! I haven't been to a professional baseball game in 3 years!

After the game we have to head back to Spokane so that Deric can wake up the next morning early and catch a flight back to San Diego. I hate those days!

Saturday I was able to join my Singles ward on a VERY fun bike trip! We were able to go up to the Hiawatha Trail! It was SO beautiful up there! The weather was prefect, not scorching hot, and not freezing cold like i anticipated, but it was very nice! It is such a cool trail! It used to be a train track that went from (I think) Seattle to Chicago, but of course it doesn't get used anymore, so they turned it into a bike trail! Its 15 miles down hill, but you can go back up ( I went back up it last year, it wasn't as much fun!) You get to go through lots of cool tunnels, the 1st tunnel you get to go through its 1.5 miles long and its pitch black in there! You have to have a very good light to see around, and there are little ditches on the side with lots of water in them! So you have to be careful! This is a picture of the first long tunnel, and yes that is my friends and I sitting on top of it! Its a lot of fun! I would recommend it to anyone! Just don't forget your BRIGHT light.

wedding stress....

Things have been pretty crazy around here. I am trying to get as much of the wedding plans going while my sister Katie is here in town from Seattle. It's been fun turning my vision of our reception into reality! It's kinda crazy but lots of fun! Deric of course just gets to hear me talk about our wedding plans every night on the phone. I kind of feel bad for him because that is all I talk about. I never realized how much time and effort goes into just planning a reception! Trying to find a DJ and a wedding photographer and engagement pictures. Its been fun but stressful, since we have a pretty short engagement! Trying to find someone that is available on September 26Th is hard. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them!!!! I am off to bed, I have had a whole week of late shopping and even later nights.

The Real Story;)

It was a long long time ago, well... more like a month and a half ago. I was in the mall down in san diego. I was on a mission I needed something round shiny and most likely expensive. I was in luck the mall had a huge selection, in fact they had too many it took me forever to find what i was looking for, but after many dedicated hours and a few snack breaks i found the perfect ring, or so i hoped. After i got the ring my mother of course wanted to see it. Anyone who knows her understands what i mean. so i took some pictures and e-mailed them to her, the best part is Jenna was on the otherside of the table but couldn't see what they were looking at. I don't think she was too happy. Now that i had the ring it was time to figure out how to propose, it was a matter of taking time to TALK WITH HER FATHER!! very important step, then ask Jenna. I quickly found out the government was in a conspiracy to keep me away from spokane. After I bought the ring I was sent to 29 palms (aka the middle of the desert) for a month so there went any plans for a month. On the plus side being in the middle of the desert gives you lots of time to think and that i did, i fugured out a plan. I got back and put in my leave request and was going over the plan in my head i was ready, but then uncle sam attacked again my leave got rejected. All i was thinking is Jenna is going to kill me, along with my mom and most of her family. Although I told Jenna I got my leave canceled I failed to mention there was another way to get home and that I took it. Granted it was last minute so all my previous planning was out the window( thank you again uncle sam) I was on my way home. I must thank my mom though she had a big part in this she found out for me on my way home that Jenna had a dance that night so she would not be home. A new plan, I landed in Spokane at 8pm got home and called Jenna's house her father answered and we talked for a little bit and then i was on my way over there. On my way I made plans with Clayton to help me when I got to the dance, everything was going great. Then I remembered where I was going and what I was going to do, oh wow I have never been so nervous. I survived! Jenna's dad went easy on me, whew! Now that I had permission I was on my way to propose. Clayton met me outside and we went over how it was going to work. He would call her up on stage I would walk out SURPRISE!!! and propose. Once inside I was waithing next to the stage for what felt like an eternity I swear they played the longest song in the world twice over just to make me wait. Finally the song is over Clayton calls Jenna up on stage I walk out, to see there are lots of people now staring at me, but it was ok I was so happy to see Jenna. Clayton handed me the microphone, and I wanted to say something really clever and witty but it didn't quite happen it, I did have to reassure her that I asked her father though hence the mention of importance earlier. I got down on one knee, and asked Jenna to marry me, she said yes and so the rest of our lives together begins!

Friday June 13Th-

Deric had told me that he wasn't going to be able to make up here this weekend because his leave had pretty much been rejected. I am not gonna lie, I was totally upset and very sad that he wouldn't make it up here to go to my cousins wedding with me.

So instead of being a bum all weekend I decided I was going to go out with some friends to a singles dance. The theme for the singles dance on Friday was 70's and 80's. So of course I got totally decked out in all of my 80's clothes with my really good friend Kayla. Big Hair, Leg warmers, bright pink chuck Taylor's, blue eye shadow, Big hair & to top it off a fanny pack,pretty much the works! I looked pretty sweet! So I went to the dance, ran outside every time a slow song came on, so I wouldn't have to reject anyone. anyways about 10 o'clock Clayton Hull one of my very good friends gets up on stage and says that he wants Jenna Wilson to get up on stage. I was totally confused. I kept thinking why the heck do they want me to go up there, its not my birthday, there is nothing special going on today. So I get up there and Clayton says that he has a very big surprise for me! and out walks DERIC!!!! I couldn't believe it! He totally surprised me and showed up and the dance! So I of course hugged him like crazy and just couldn't believe he was there. He grabbed the Mic from Clayton and started to get down on one knee and was asking me to marry him! Before he said anything I had to ask him one question!!!! DID YOU ASK MY DAD? He of course is such a gentleman and had just gotten back from my house asking my dad for my hand in marriage! Oh man he is amazing! So he asked me to Marry him in front of everyone at the church dance and while I was totally decked out in my 80's clothes! I couldn't have asked for a better proposal! and my ring! its amazing!!!Deric knows me very well and picked out the ring himself!

So a little background on Deric and I for those who don't know!

Deric and I actually met in 7Th grade at Greenacres Jr. High here in Spokane. We met in Treble Choir with Mr. Muzatko as our teacher. I will post more on how things worked out between us too a little later!!!
