A little girl in the neighborhood had her 6th birthday at Irvine Regional Park. This park has to be one of the coolest places I have seen so far in Irvine. There are trains rides, paddle boat rentals, pony rides, a zoo, horse back rentals, and the park is gorgeous! Set back up in the hills behind our apartment and LOADS of trees. It was so fun to hang out with the kids and see them having so much fun! and the best part was they slept so well after a fun filled Hello Kitty Birthday party!

Trying….
So the Prophet told us to try and grow our own food. Its a little hard in a small apartment but I am trying my best. I bought some herbs a little while ago in my attempt to follow the Prophet. Starting small.
Soon I would LOVE to have an orange tree and Lemon tree! They smell amazing and grow wonderfully down here in Southern California!

half way!
This week is the half way mark!
Honestly I never thought I would make it this far. In my mind I kept coming up with ways to get Deric back home. But of course none of them would have been reasonable and all very lame.
But to my surprise the deployment has been easier than I ever imagined. I thought I would be the wife that would be depressed and crying all the time. But I told myself I could look at it two ways. Make the best of it and go on with life, or be the depressed super sad wife.
So why not make the best of every situation. I hate being sad and depressed all the time, its no fun. Yes, it does suck very bad to have my husband gone for 7 1/2 months but I am totally not in control of the situation.
The only way to get through this is to be HAPPY and get excited about every little thing I hear from him. Every letter I get from him and text makes me incredibly HAPPY! Hearing his voice is the best thing ever! It totally keeps me going. I hate it when we run out of time on his phone cards. But I know the next time I actually talk to him will make so happy and pretty much melt!
But its half way done! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???? I seriously remember bawling my eyes out on the way home from Camp Pendleton, and crying at every little thing that I saw of his the next day. It definitely gets easier as the time goes by, and honestly its gonna be weird to have him back home. I have gotten into such a routine with my days and nights that he might just mess them up!
I can't wait to have him mess it all up though, and to move on with our lives and plan for our future!!!! It Will be nice to have someone in the house with me all the time!
I am so in love with my camera. It has been a lot of fun to see the different settings, I haven't figured out how to edit my pictures yet, but soon! Best purchase so far! I took M & M to the park on Tuesday and we had a blast with a photo shoot! little M wasn't too interested he just wanted to play in the sand! But big M was totally into it! Here are 4 of my faves of the kiddies!

Around our house you will find the word LOVE 3 times. Once when you first enter, once in the kitchen and once above my bed (tastysuite). I LOVE the word LOVE!

My new TOMS
Clorox disinfecting wipes THEY ARE SO CUTE!
My sister Katie and her crazy stories she tells me daily!

Happy 22nd Birthday Deric!!!!
Derics birthday is Tomorrow! Sunday April 19th.
He finally will be the same age as me! 22
This is the 2nd birthday that we have been apart.
Deric has been the best thing to happen to me! He truly is an amazing person. I never thought that it would be possible to love someone so much, and continue to fall in love with them more and more everyday. But it has happened with him.
In Jr. High and High School Deric was ALWAYS there for me. I honestly had no idea that Deric would be the one that I would fall head over heels for. But it happened, and it happened fast and I am so thankful.
Deric is such a caring person, so kind and so generous. He is so calm tempered. I really love that about him, because I can get pretty upset about things, but he always looks at the better sides of things and helps me to see that side of things too. Like this deployment, It has been pretty rough on both of us, but I think more for me! He always just tells me that it is 8 months out of ETERNITY! Not that long when you think about it!
He always is saying something funny or clever and always puts a big smile on my face.
He is super talented. In High School he was in most of the plays. He always did an amazing job singing and dancing.
Something new that I learned about Deric is that he likes things straight. When we 1st moved into our apartment I had put some letters on that wall that say LOVE. I had them a little off centered and when he came home he saw that and instantly said that they had to be centered or he would take them off the wall and do it himself. I had no idea that he liked things perfectly centered. If someones picture in there house if off a little, he will fix it.
I love that he is a worthy priesthood holder, and uses his priesthood often. That he wanted a temple marriage so that we can have an eternal family.I love his attitude and love for the church and that our lives together are focused on the same goal, eternity!
I love our long talks at night, sometimes about nothing! I love his love notes that he sends home from Japan.
He has the best sense of humor and can make any picture funny! See evidence below!
Deric has an amazing family, that I am so lucky to be apart of now!
Thank you for raising an amazing son!!!!!!!!
I love everything about Deric.
Here are some lyrics from a song that I think fits perfectly, since I am not so good at words!
from our wedding song Loving Every Minute by Mark Wills
This song really sums up our relationship!!!!!
I was never really breathing
My heart was never really beating
Till you held me in your arms
And every love that didn't last
Every second of my past
Simply disappeared into the dark
And with that first kiss
I felt my life beginning
And the clock just froze
And the world stopped spinning
Now the magic of that moment
is never ending
You made time stand still
And I'm loving every minute
Its a need that never changes.
A passion that is ageless.
It consumes me like it did, when it was new.
You have led me to a place,
Where everyday's the same
And I'm always falling more
in love with you
Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday
I truly feel Lucky to be in love with my best friend!!!!!!! I can't wait for you to come home!
Happy Birthday Deric!!! I love you so much! Thank you for being an amazing husband, even from 9,227 miles away, give or take a few miles!!!
( I did all the words in blue since its your favorite color!)

Milestones!!
Anyone who knew me when I was growing up, knows that I HATED big dogs! Well pretty much any dog!
I also hosted my 1st Easter Dinner on my BRAND NEW beautiful kitchen table! I even used all of my different colors of fiesta ware! My table was very colorful. It was a lot of fun to actually cook for my family this time. Normally my sister in law always cooks. It was a lot of fun to have people over for dinner! Another big milestone for me! I am just sad that Deric wasn't here to enjoy it with us!
All of us after dinner! Danny decided that he wanted to be apart of the picture! I wasn't too thrilled, and we got the wrong end of him! We tried but it didn't work to have him in the picture!!!!

road trip lessons.
I am, in a round about way, on a long boring road trip!
1st stop Friday April 3rd Las Vegas NV for the ACM Awards.
2nd stop Monday April 6th- La Quinta,CA to nanny for the week.
3rd stop- Friday April 10th- San Diego, ca to hang out with brothers family and mom
4th stop- Saturday April 11th- HOME!!! FINALLY!!!!!!
Lessons learned on the BORING highways-mostly between Las Vegas and La Quinta on route 66 and hwy 95.
1. DON'T hang your foot out the window to cool it off because its 85 degrees outside. Bugs will hit your foot, just like they do the windshield. and if you drive as fast as I do it hurts even worse.
2. Make sure you have enough washer fluid. I think there are over 200 plus bugs on my windshield, because I ran out of fluid.
3. ALWAYS have over a full tank, I hadn't seen a gas station in over 2 hours. I haven't seen ANYONE in over 2 hours! But I did see a for sale sign. I don't know what they were selling, like a million acres or something?
4. Don't drive a stick shift, my foot is numb from traffic in the middle of NOWHERE!
5. Have AC in your car if you ever want to drive through the Mojave desert. Its WICKED hot in April. I NEVER want to see it in July or August.
6. If you have to drive with your windows down, make sure where ever you are heading too has a good shower. You will have dust/sand/bugs all over you!
7. If you don't like straight 2 lane highways, don't take this drive. But I would like to thank who ever made highway 95 100s of years ago, THANK YOU for making the bumps on the road! It was the only thing that kept me happy!
8. always buy a car with good stereo reception or a CD player. Driving for 7 hours without music is not fun. you learn a lot!
9. best lesson yet. from a billboard on I-10 between INDIO and LA QUINTA. NOT EVERYONE CAN OR SHOULD WEAR SPANDEX.
I will post pictures next week of all the country singers I met. Vegas was a lot of fun. It was so amazing to see all of the people I listen to on the radio and Cd's just walking around.
