Sedona
Last weekend for our 3rd wedding anniversary we headed up to Sedona, Arizona to slide on some rocks!
I didn’t take any pictures of us at Slide Rock because the camera would have gotten soaked. But we had a blast! and I was SUPER sore for about 4 days after!
That is what it looks like! The water was SOOOOOOO cold! But it was a blast!
After we got done there we headed into Sedona to do some sight seeing!
The best way to see the most beautiful parts of Sedona is to go on one of the jeep tours they offer there! It was the best thing we did! We learned a lot about the area and saw some amazing views of the Red Rocks and the surrounding area!
The pictures are all out of order! But you can see the amazing beauty that is Sedona!
Can you find these in the pictures???
1. A family of Indians
2. Kissing Rocks
3. Antique Graffiti
4. Cow Pie
5. The Best Smell in the world! Well that isn’t a very fair question! The pictures with the gray rock and trees is a little waterfall. In that area the wind comes down and gives an amazing breeze and with that breeze is the best smell ever! Its so fresh and smells like pine. I could have stayed in that spot the whole time! It was SOO refreshing!
The view at the top of Schnebly Hill was amazing! Sedona is in the foreground! It took about 45 minutes to get to the top! But our awesome driver of the jeep took some time to explain things to us!
You can drive this road by your self and it would be amazing, but the road is SUPER rough and we learned SO much by being driven around with our tour guide!
We had a great anniversary! I can’t wait to go back to Sedona and slide down the rocks again and see the amazing red rocks! It truly is beautiful there!!!

Becoming home
I guess I better get used to this place! Its going to be our home for the next 5 years!
We did some decorating today! I am IN LOVE with this little project!
I got the window a couple years ago in Spokane at the Farm Chicks show and had it up in our previous house, but decided a couple days ago that I wanted to make it look like a shelf! and I have to say it looks amazing and we built it our selves!!!!
Diesel is getting used to the new apartment. Now that he knows we aren’t just leaving him here by himself. When we first moved in he would freak out every time we left. Now he could care less. He loves being able to look out on the road below us and people watch.
The sunsets in Arizona are amazing! I took this one a couple weekends ago in the car on the way home from Derics grandparents house! One amazing perk of living in a hot place is amazing sunsets and amazing lightning storms!!! We have seen about 5 good storms come through in the 4 weeks we have lived here.

Where were you when the World stopped turning?
I remember like it was yesterday where I was when the world stopped turning!
I was 14 years old and started my second week of school as a Freshman.
I had gotten up pretty early to get ready for Early Morning Seminary which started around 6:45 I believe.
I had just finished getting ready and turned on the TV as I ate my morning cereal.
I turned to channel 4 which was ABC in Spokane,WA.
I turned the TV on right when the second plane hit the tower. At first I thought I was watching a preview for a new movie that was coming out but after a couple seconds I realized it wasn't fake and that our nation had just come under attack.
I was in complete SHOCK and ran to my parents room to wake my mom up to tell her what was happening. I turned on the TV in her room and watched in horror at the site I was seeing on the TV.
To be honest I had no idea what the World Trade Centers were, I didn't know what terrorism really was, I didn't understand the severity of what just happened.
At school later that morning we were able to watch a few more minutes of the new coverage but our teachers at Greenacres Junior High made us turn it off.
I will never forget the feelings of that day.
I can't believe its been 10 years.
I am PROUD to be an American.
I support our Military, Police officers, Fireman and all people who work for this amazing nation!
I WILL NEVER FORGET!
May we never forget the Heroes who went down in the Pennsylvania field and saved so many lives! I am so proud to be an American knowing that there are people like those men who took over the plane from the hijacker that day in Pennsylvania! and those who died at the Pentagon. May we never forget!

17 days
The heat is going to kill me!!!!!!!
It has been 99 degrees only one day since we have lived here. The rest of the time during the day its over 110!!!! WOW!
I am the kinda person that LOVES the gloomy cloudy days! I love rain! I love having my windows open in my house and letting the cold air outside in.
I can't do that here! I am so afraid of what our air conditioning bill is going to be! We have it set at 80 but it feels like it is always running!
Deric is doing great in school! Its keeping him pretty busy! I got a job cleaning someones house 4 hours a day! I pretty much do the same things I was doing as nanny just without the kids. Its nice to go to work only 4 hours a day and just clean by my self! No interruptions! and by the time I am done with work its only 1 and I have the rest of the day with my husband and time to organize my house and make it look more like a home!!!!
I think once the weather cools down and I can go outside more without dying of heat I will like it here more.
One thing I do love here is the amazing sunsets and lightning storms! They are amazing!

ARIZONA
We are all moved in to our new place in Scottsdale, AZ. Its super hot here, which is going to take a long time to get used too! We still have LOADS of unpacking to do and organizing which feels like it might take forever!
Diesel is having a hard time getting used to the new house! He can’t seem to find where his food and water is half the time, and kinda mopes around the house. I am hoping it wont last long! We all miss California so much! But I guess we have to get used to this area since we will be here for the next 5 years.
The move was a little crazy! We didn’t start packing the u-haul until 9pm Friday night! Kinda insane! I was BEYOND stressed out! and we got too small of a u-haul, so our jeep was PACKED to the rim! After 5 hours of packing and cleaning we finally went to bed around 2:30 and woke up at 4:30 to finish the last few things that needed to jam into the Jeep. We got everything loaded and the jeep on the trailer behind the U-Haul and took off around 6:30. It seriously felt like it took FOREVER to get to Arizona. We finally rolled into our new place around 1:30. Got the keys and started unloading the U-Haul with the help of some of the guys from our new ward! It took the guys about 30 minutes to get the whole truck unloaded! now we just have the daunting task of unpacking all the boxes!!!
We went to our new ward on Sunday. It was really hard not knowing anyone but everyone was very nice and welcoming!
Deric just left for his first day of school! He has to go to the V.A. and get a check for books, and finish all of his paper work with them and then only has one class today! Then we are gonna go get Arizona licenses and become residents! So weird!
I miss everyone in California terribly! Its been a rough couple of days! But atleast we are only 5.5 hours away! we will be back a lot! Can’t wait to see all of our friends back home soon!!!!

what a weekend!
We had a fun filled busy weekend!!!! Saturday Deric and I headed to the beach down in San Clemente with our friends the Williams! Deric and Tyler surfed while Elisabeth and I hung out on the sand with little man Luke! It was such a nice beach day!
Later that evening Deric and I headed a little south to Laguna Nigel and hit up the local candy store! Powells Sweet Shoppe is AMAZING! If you live in the area you must take a trip down! They had SOOO much candy, and soda it was amazing! We got some candy and some old fashioned soda in bottles! We will be making another trip down soon!
Today we woke up early and took some family photos for the Williams, which was so fun. It was a blast to watch Luke just play on the toys at the park we chose for the background. He wasn’t so much interested in posing today, but he sure was a hoot to watch the toys!
Today was also our last Sunday in our ward. I was so sad. Its so hard to say good bye to people who you have seen the past 3 years every sunday and know that you wont be seeing them every sunday anymore. I have really grown to love the people in our ward and am going to miss all of them very much! But we have promised to come back and visit, which we will!!!!!
Later in the evening we took some more pictures of two brothers in our ward!!! The little brother is getting baptized in two weeks and his adorable mama wanted some pics of him for that special day!
Then we headed off to some friends house for a little dessert! It was a wonderful week! Now starts the dreaded packing and getting rid of junk in our house! We only have one more full weekend in California! I can’t believe how fast the time has flown.
